A violent shooting outside a nightclub in Queens, New York, left 10 people injured on New Year’s Day, as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on January 1, 2025, near the Amazura nightclub located at 91-12 144th Place in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens.

According to the New York Police Department (NYPD), multiple suspects, described as three to four males, fired over 30 shots at a group of people standing outside the venue.

The victims were part of a crowd that had formed outside the nightclub, which was at capacity with 90 people inside at the time.

The gunfire struck 10 individuals, six of whom were female and four male. Fortunately, all the victims were rushed to local hospitals, and authorities confirmed that their injuries were non-life-threatening.

NYPD Chief Philip Rivera condemned the act of violence, stating, “Let me start by saying that there’s zero tolerance for these senseless shootings.

These horrible acts of violence on our streets, and those responsible for this crime will be apprehended and brought to justice.”

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects flee the scene in a sedan with out-of-state license plates.

While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, Rivera confirmed that the incident was not a terrorist attack.
