A 102-year-old woman Nigerian woman identified by her name, Mrs. Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche has declared her interest in running as President for the Republic of Nigeria in the upcoming 2023 Presidential elections.
Nigeria, which is the largest country in the whole of Africa will be holding their next elections on 18 February 2023, where they will be selecting a new presidential candidate to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari who is being term-limited.
The race for the 2023 Presidential Elections in Nigeria is getting more interesting as 102-year-old Ezeanyaeche, who is also known as ‘living legend’ or ‘Mama Africa’, has shown her interest in contesting.

She is an indigene of Aguata, Anambra State, Nigeria, and is the founder of the ‘Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria’ group.

Mama Africa made her intention known during a recent visit to the management team of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Abuja where she was received by the NTA Director-General, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed.
According to her, if the younger Nigerian generation is shying away from political participation, she will take on the mantle to contest
“If Nigerians are shying away from political participation, she says she is ready to contest. She has already prepared a manifesto for herself. She has the vision. If the good ones don’t come out to contest…”
