The biggest night in the world of Hollywood comes soon as the 2024 Oscar Nominations have finally been released. The nominees list for the 96th Academy Awards were made public on Tuesday, January 23, announced by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid.

The “Oscars awards,” officially known as the Academy Awards, is an annual ceremony honoring outstanding achievements in the film industry. The awards are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

The Oscars cover various categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and many others. The winners receive a golden statuette, commonly referred to as the “Oscar.” The event is a significant milestone in the film industry, recognizing excellence in filmmaking.

The 2024 Oscar nominations across all 23 categories comprise qualifying films released between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2023. The eligibility period was stuffed full of great film releases over the year, but none bigger in scale, spectacle, and social celebration than Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer leads the pack with 13 leading nominations, with Poor Things (11 nods) , Barbie (8 nods) and Killers of the Flower Moon (10 nods) closely following suit.
