Arsenal took the lead for biggest spenders with over £150million in bringing six new signings, while acquisitions of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo saw Manchester United come close to the Gunners’ tally.
Chelsea also followed in that order after bringing the likes of Marcus Bettinelli, Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez.
Liverpool were quiet with just one signing of France international centre-back Ibrahima Konate.
Below are the names of the 7 free agents that are likely to sign Arsenals, Liverpool and Manchester clubs.
1. Serge Aurier
Serge Aurier had his contracted terminated at Tottenham Hotspur in the final hour of deadline day. The Ivorian right-back spent four seasons in north London but often failed to convince his manager thanks to his erratic defensive displays.
2. Rafael da Silva
Another right-back, former Manchester United player was released by Istanbul Basaksehir just one year into his two-year deal in the Turkish capital.
The Brazilian defender recently admitted it would be “amazing” to return to the Premier League following five seasons with Lyon after being sold by Louis van Gaal.
3. Javier Pastore
The Argentine made just 37 appearances in three years for Roma after a trophy-laden seven years with Paris Saint-Germain. The 32 year old was one of the best attackers for the national team during mid 2010.
4. Max Meyer
Meyer was released by Crystal Palace back in January and spent the remainder of the season with native German outfit Koln. The Germany international struggled to show off his playmaking ability in Roy Hodgson’s rigid Eagles setup in two-and-a-half years at Selhurst Park.
5. Jack Wilshere
The 29-year-old spent 10 years with Arsenal before making the tough decision to leave and join boyhood club West Ham. A prime example of an English talent who failed to hit the heights expected of him, Wilshere is once again without a club having been released by Bournemouth.
6. Franck Ribery
France international was one of the best players in the world at his peak, Bayern Munich legend Ribery made 51 appearances for Fiorentina despite turning 38 in April.
In his early days, there would be few sides in the world would have turned him down for free.
7. Daniel Sturridge
Another Englishman who was expected to go on and do great things during his time at Liverpool where he and Luis Suarez almost fired them to a title in 2014 thanks to their scintillating partnership – ended in sad circumstances due to injury.
