TV presenter Chloe Madeley experienced a shocking incident at a London nightclub, where she was groped by a rugby legend while her estranged husband, James Haskell, DJed just a few feet away.
The revelations come from Haskell’s new book, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, in which he recounts the night of unwanted advances.
According to Haskell, a former England flanker who played in the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cups, two well-known rugby players made drunken passes at Madeley during the night.
He wrote, “I had a call from a supposedly squeaky-clean rugby great who was getting up to all sorts of mischief in a notoriously hedonistic European capital.”

He further detailed that while he was performing, one player propositioned Madeley while another groped her.
Sources close to the situation revealed that Madeley was the only woman present and was taken aback by the incident.

Although she was shocked, she chose not to escalate the matter at the time, leaving the venue with Haskell shortly afterward.
The couple, who began dating in 2015 and married in 2018, welcomed their daughter Bohdi in August 2022 but announced their separation in October 2023, and are currently awaiting divorce proceedings.
Their relationship has faced scrutiny, particularly after Haskell was spotted with another woman in Ibiza while Madeley remained in the UK.

In his book, Haskell reflects on the complexities of public personas and the discrepancies often found behind the “squeaky-clean” images of rugby players. He emphasizes a candid approach to his mistakes, stating, “Nobody’s perfect, but if you’re clever, you can make it seem that way.”
Madeley has previously indicated that she would not delve into the details of their breakup, describing the experience as “f***ing awful.”
