Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin had an unexpected moment during the band’s concert at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Sunday, November 3, as he fell through an open trap door while entertaining the audience.
The incident occurred as Martin, 47, was sharing stories from their international Music of the Spheres World Tour.
While walking backwards down a raised runway, he suddenly tumbled into the trap door, prompting gasps from the crowd and quick reactions from crew members who rushed to help him back on his feet.

In videos circulating on social media, fans captured the moment, with one fan commenting, “The moment Chris Martin fell through a trap door right in front of me at the #Coldplay concert tonight.”
After the fall, Martin humorously remarked, “That’s not planned!” and added, “Holy s—, that was nearly a YouTube moment!” He then expressed his gratitude to a crew member who assisted him.

Following their Melbourne show, the band is set to perform in Sydney before heading to New Zealand.
The tour has not only featured impressive musical acts but also marked milestones for the band, with Martin previously announcing their intention to release only 12 “proper albums” before exploring new creative avenues.

The latest album, Moon Music, was released in June, showcasing the band’s ongoing evolution and artistic exploration.
As the tour progresses toward its conclusion in September 2025 at London’s Wembley Stadium, fans can expect more unforgettable moments, both on and off the stage.
