A total of 65,023 candidates sat for the second series of the exam, which was conducted in Nigeria from October 25 to December 20, 2024.

In a statement signed by Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, the acting Public Affairs Officer of WAEC, it was revealed that 34,878 candidates, or 53.64%, achieved credit and above in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

The gender breakdown showed that 16,886 (48.41%) of these successful candidates were male, while 17,992 (51.58%) were female.

Out of the 65,023 candidates who sat for the exam, 62,354, or 95.90%, had their results fully processed and released. However, 2,669 candidates, representing 4.10%, had some of their subjects still being processed due to errors on their part. WAEC is working to finalize these results as quickly as possible.

These cases will be investigated thoroughly, and decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates.

The council also encouraged all candidates to check their results online via the WAEC Direct Portal (www.waecdirect.org) and access their digital certificates through the Digital Certificate Platform (www.waec.org).

The 2024 WASSCE for private candidates was the first to be conducted in two modes: paper and pen, and a hybrid computer-based option, offering candidates flexibility in how they sat the exam.
