A 66-year-old woman from Germany, Alexandra Hildebrandt, has made headlines after giving birth to her 10th child, a healthy baby boy named Philipp, on March 19, 2025, at Charité Hospital in Berlin. Remarkably, she claims to have conceived without the assistance of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Hildebrandt, who is also the managing chairwoman and director of the Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, has a large family, with Philipp joining siblings ranging in age from 2 to 46 years old.
Her previous pregnancies included a set of 12-year-old twins, Elisabeth and Maximilian.
In an interview with TODAY.com, Hildebrandt expressed that raising a large family is not only wonderful but essential for proper child-rearing.

Despite her busy professional and personal life, Hildebrandt reported receiving positive feedback from friends and family.
Her OB/GYN, Dr. Wolfgang Henrich, described her pregnancy as “largely uncomplicated,” even though Hildebrandt had previously undergone eight cesarean sections.
Dr. Henrich noted that pregnancies later in life, especially those after multiple cesareans, come with higher risks such as premature birth, cardiovascular problems, and high blood pressure.
However, he emphasized that Hildebrandt’s pregnancy was healthy overall.Hildebrandt’s approach to health includes a balanced diet, regular swimming, and long walks.
Despite the challenges that come with pregnancy at an advanced age, Hildebrandt’s story stands as a testament to the possibility of motherhood well beyond traditional childbearing years.
