In a scene straight out of a movie, a bride in Florida was caught “racing to the altar” after police clocked her speeding at 105 mph on a highway, trying to make it to her wedding ceremony on time.
The high-speed chase unfolded Friday afternoon in Port St. Lucie, when an officer in an unmarked police car noticed a gray Tesla flying down the Crosstown Parkway.
The car was traveling at an alarming 105 miles per hour, and the officer quickly pulled the car over.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he was greeted by a surprised bride sitting in the passenger seat, dressed in a long white wedding gown.
The groom, dressed in a white shirt and black vest, was behind the wheel. “Whose wedding is it?” the officer asked, to which the bride responded, “It’s mine!”

According to the bodycam footage shared by the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the bride explained that the wedding was supposed to start at 2:30 p.m. in nearby Stuart, but they were pulled over at 2:42 p.m., already running behind schedule.
“You’re already late,” the officer told her, prompting the bride to nervously giggle and explain, “We’re trying to get there.”
Despite the high-speed antics, the officer issued the driver a mandatory court date for speeding but allowed them to continue on their way so the bride could make it to the ceremony.
“This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar,” the police department quipped in a social media post. “Not exactly the best way to start your wedding.”
While the bride may not have had the smoothest journey to her big day, she certainly made an unforgettable entrance.
