The 2025 TGMA winners have been announced.
The 26th Telecel Ghana Music Award came off on Saturday, May 10, after its postponement from May 3, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in the capital of Ghana.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2025 were hosted by the one and only Naa AShorkor, with help from comedian Romanus and AJ Sarpong, and included electrifying performances by Stonebwoy, King Promise, Beeztrap KOTM, Yaw Darling, King Paluta, KiDi, Fameye, and Kweku Smoke, among others.
Gregory Bortey Newman, also known as King Promise, won the most coveted award of the night, Artiste of the Year, beating out Kweku Smoke, Team Eternity, Joe Mettle, King Paluta, Black Sherif, and the 2024 winner, Stonebwoy.
Aside from winning artiste of the Year, King Promise also won accolades for Best Album/EP of the Year, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, and Afropop Song of the Year, for a total of four awards on the night.
Stonebwoy, King Paluta, and Kweku Smoke followed closely behind King Promise, each earning three awards: King Paluta (Telecel Most Popular Song, Producer of the Year, and Best Highlife Song). Kweku Smoke (Best Hip-Hop Artist, Best Rap Performance, and Best Hip-Hop Song). Stonebwoy wins Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, and Best Music Video.
Stonebwoy won the Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Category Award after a long battle against Jupitar, Samini, Ras Kuku, Episode, and Rocky Dawuni; this is his tenth award in the category.
The Taadi (Takoradi Boy) Kofi Kinaata won the Songwriter Award of the Year for his song ‘Saman,’ making him the most awarded musician in the category in Ghana’s music history.
Beeztrap KOTM won the Best New Artiste category, beating out competitors such as Lali X Lola, Rap Fada, Arathejay, Team Eternity, and Kwesi Amewuga. Yaw Darling won the Telecel Ghana Music Awards Unsung category.
