Reacting swiftly to the controversy, Adunni Ade took to her official X account to set the record straight. In a firm statement, she labeled the reports as “fake news” and expressed disappointment over the manner in which her name is being misused for engagement purposes.
Not mincing words, the actress gave a stern warning to all platforms responsible for publishing the misleading content. She issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the immediate removal of the false information from their pages and websites.
“I kindly request you to take down this post within 24 hours to prevent further action involving my legal team,” she declared. Adunni made it clear that she would not hesitate to pursue legal action if the parties involved failed to comply.
According to her, the widespread misinformation was a deliberate attempt to attract traffic using her name, regardless of the harm such falsehood could cause to her image and integrity. She emphasized that the false claims were not backed by any reliable source.
In her post, she further criticized the trend of some media outlets exploiting public figures for clout and online engagement. She stated: “I don’t appreciate the fact that you are using my name to peddle false news and articles with no verifiable source just to generate engagement.”
