Florida woman allegedly hid several syringes and a bag of fentanyl ‘inside her person’

Jessica Reno, 34, of Florida, was arrested when deputies discovered fentanyl and syringes stashed “inside her person.” The event originated as a regular traffic stop and quickly escalated into many accusations for drug possession and driving offenses.

On June 15, Flagler County Sheriff’s officers stopped Reno’s Chevrolet pickup vehicle due to a mismatched license plate. The plate, which belonged to a Ford vehicle, sparked obvious suspicion. Furthermore, Reno was observed driving without her seatbelt correctly buckled, as stated in the charge affidavit.

Reno initially failed to stop when deputies activated their lights and sirens, instead slowing down and pulling over after 30 seconds.

She claimed she was on the phone with her daughter, which delayed her response. During the stop, Reno revealed she did not have a valid driver’s license and was already in legal trouble for previous traffic charges.

Deputies confirmed that Reno’s license plate was not hers. Reno apparently acknowledged to borrowing a friend’s plate after losing her own some days before. Furthermore, her truck’s registration had expired, and she lacked current insurance. She apologized for the breaches, claiming she was “in a rush.”

The situation worsened after Reno was arrested for driving offenses. Deputies cautioned her that bringing contraband into the jail would lead to extra charges. Reno denied having any illegal items..

However, throughout the booking process, deputies discovered a black sock tucked in her vagina. Six syringes and a little bag of white substance were found inside the sock, which Reno subsequently verified was fentanyl.

A field test confirmed the substance was fentanyl, with a total weight of three grams, including packaging. Reno admitted to purchasing the drugs earlier that day and initially claimed she had forgotten they were on her person. She later explained that fear of withdrawal symptoms led her to conceal the items.

Reno now faces multiple charges, including possession of fentanyl, smuggling contraband into a detention facility, and driving with a suspended license. She was released after posting an $11,500 bond.
