The ongoing feud between Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has intensified after both parties made explosive accusations involving drug use, emotional abuse, and manipulation.
Nwoko, the Delta North Senatorial District representative, had earlier alleged that Regina’s brother, Sammy, repeatedly harassed his children and domestic staff, while also accusing him of introducing Daniels to drugs.
He claimed to have funded Sammy’s education and lifestyle, including his university tuition, music equipment, and housing in Abuja, totaling several millions of naira.
“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff, especially whenever I was not around,” Nwoko wrote on his official X handle. He also claimed that his wife’s alleged drug problem was worsened by her brother’s influence, stating that “Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced and supplied these drugs to her.”
According to the senator, his efforts to rehabilitate Daniels were constantly undermined by her family and friends. He alleged that they violated doctors’ instructions by smuggling in the same substances she was being treated for.
Nwoko recounted one incident in which Sammy allegedly stormed his home at 4 a.m., confronting him aggressively.
In his defense, Nwoko said he had involved law enforcement for Sammy’s “rehabilitation and guidance” rather than punishment, while dismissing circulating videos accusing him of violence as “pure Nollywood drama staged in front of my house.”
However, Regina Daniels publicly countered her estranged husband’s claims in a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, accusing him of twisting the truth to damage her reputation. She admitted to past drug use but said it was not the cause of their marital breakdown.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this,” Daniels wrote, accusing Nwoko of using the issue as a distraction.
The actress alleged that the senator encouraged her drug use for his sexual pleasure. “You say you want me to go for rehab, but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high,” she claimed.
Daniels further accused Nwoko of emotional and physical control, alleging that he locked her in, seized her phones, and instructed doctors to administer sedatives when she disagreed with him. “Why don’t you tell them how you lock me up and have doctors inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she added.
Rejecting his claims that she acted incoherently, Daniels maintained that the “drug narrative” was a diversion from the real issues in their relationship. She also declared that their union had no legal standing, saying, “We were never married in any court of law… Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force.”
