Authorities in Florida have arrested Lil Tjay following a shooting that left fellow rapper Offset injured outside a major casino venue.
Police say the incident took place Monday evening at the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, where a confrontation escalated into gunfire around 7 p.m. Offset was shot during the chaos and rushed to the hospital. Officials later confirmed his injuries were not life-threatening.
Lil Tjay, 24, was taken into custody the same night. According to arrest records, he was booked into Broward County Jail on a disorderly conduct charge and held on a $500 bond. Investigators have not formally charged him with the shooting itself.
The situation has drawn widespread attention, partly due to Offset’s high-profile relationship with Cardi B, with whom he shares three children.
Law enforcement officials say the violence appears to have stemmed from a fight. Gary Bitney, a spokesperson for the Seminole Police Department, confirmed that another individual was detained at the scene but has not been charged.
He added that an “investigation to identify one or more additional persons involved in the incident is ongoing.”
Lil Tjay’s legal team has pushed back strongly against claims linking him directly to the shooting. His attorney, Dawn M. Florio, addressed the situation publicly, dismissing reports circulating online.
“Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false,” she wrote Monday on Instagram. “We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”
As of now, police have not released details about a suspected shooter. The case remains active, with authorities working to determine who else may have played a role in the altercation.
