Lagos, Nigeria – In this post we are about to educate Nigerian students on how to check their WASSCE 2022 Results and to guardians (parents) how to check the result for their wards.
Results of students who took the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations were made public by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Monday, August 8, 2022. (WASSCE).
The results were however released 45 days after the last paper in June. The 2022 WASSCE Examination in Nigeria held for six weeks starting from May 16 to June 23, 2022.
According to WAEC, a total of 1,222,505 applicants, or 76.36 percent out of the 1,601,047 candidates who successfully sat to write their and completed the examination, received credits or above in a minimum of five (5) topics, including English Language and Mathematics.
Comparing the numbers to the 81.7% pass rate seen in 2021, they show a performance decline of more than 5%.
The Head of Nigeria Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, announced the results at the examination body’s offices in Lagos on Monday. He noted that 624,694 applicants, or 39.02 percent of the total, were female while 597,811 candidates, or 37.34 percent, were male.
With Held Results: Adding up, Mr. Areghan again disclosed that a total of 1,437,629 candidates which represents 89.79 percent have their results fully processed and released while 163,418 candidates, representing 10.21 per cent, have a few of their subjects withheld “still being processed due to some issues being resolved.”

You will need to have purchased the WAEC Direct Scratch card in order to check your result via text message. The scratch card pin is what is needed in the PIN section of the SMS you will send to 32327.

- Enter your Examination Number
- Select Examination Type e.g May/June
- Select Exams Year e.g 2022
- Click on Check Result.
How to Check Via Serial Number
- Firstly, ensure your mobile phone is internet enabled.
- Then you visit www.waecdirect.org
- Enter your 10-digit Examination number,
- Enter Serial Number
- Enter the Examination year and
- Click on Check my WAEC Result.
