Ghanaian rap sensation, Black Sherif makes history with the release of his ‘The Villain I Never Was‘ album as it hits over 100 million streams on the music streaming platform, Boomplay.
On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the Award-winning rapper whose songs have had people all over the world singing along officially released his debut studio album with the title “The Villain I Never Was.”
Only one musician, Nigeria’s very own grammy award winner Burna Boy, appeared as a featured artiste on the “Second Sermon Remix,” off the album which was released as a 14-track project.
The album has been smashing records all around the world since it was released a few days ago, topping charts all over the world.
As of October 14th, 2022, the album has received over 100 million streams on the music streaming service Boomplay, confirming he is the first Ghanaian singer to reach such numbers on their most recent album within a few days of its release.
The announcement was made by Boomplay, who sent a poster with the rapper’s image on it to their official social media accounts along with the information that he is the first Ghanaian musician to have their album streamed 100 million times on their platform.

Song likes ‘45, ‘Kwaku The Traveller‘, and ‘Soja‘ are still receiving heavy plays from Boomplay and are currently topping charts with massive radio plays.
The album has also gathered over 90 million streams on Audiomack.
