Barbadian singer, Rihanna and American rapper, Jay-Z earns another new milestone with their 2007 collaboration, the Multiple award-winning ‘Ambrella’ song as it hits 1 billion streams on American music streaming platform, Spotify.
“Umbrella” is a pop, hip hop and R&B song with rock elements, referring to a romantic and platonic relationship and the strength of that relationship. It officially released back in 2007 onto Rihanna’s third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad which earned her multiple nominations and awards starting from 2007 in major musical awards schemes including Grammy Awards as well as topping charts globally.

The song was ranked first on Entertainment Weekly’s list of the 10 Best Singles of 2007, and third on Rolling Stone’s and Time’s lists of the 100 Best Songs of the 20th Century. The song was ranked 412 on Rolling Stone’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” in 2010, and 332 in the 2021 update.07.

It is Jay-second Z’s song to reach 1 billion views on Spotify, following his first with Kanye West’s collaboration “Ni**as In Paris,” which appeared on their 2011 album “Watch The Throne.”
