Shmyhal, who had just returned from a three-day visit to the US, declined to comment on whether he had discussed the leak of documents during his meetings with US officials but emphasized that the two countries were “crucially united” on many important issues.

The leaked documents, which contain sensitive information about the war in Ukraine, have caused concern in both countries.

Some of the documents reveal key weaknesses in Ukrainian weaponry, air defense, and battalion sizes and readiness at a critical point in the war.

Additionally, one document reveals that the US has been spying on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Despite the seriousness of the leak, Shmyhal remained positive about the future of the US-Ukraine relationship.
