Rapper A$AP Rocky charged in connection with 2021 shooting

A$AP Rocky gets charged with assault with a semiautomatic weapon after allegedly shooting his longtime friend, Terell Ephron aka A$AP Relli, during a row in Hollywood, injuring the victim very slightly.

A$AP Rocky charged in connection with 2021 shooting: It would be recalled that back, we announced in one of our publications that the American rapper who is born with his legal name Rakim Athelaston Mayers was arrested in connection to 2021 shooting and was later granted a bail of $550,000.

He was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) while arriving on a private plane from Barbados, where he has been with her pregnant girlfriend, singer Rihanna by the law enforcement personnel in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in the Hollywood area in November of 2021.

The news of his arrest was however confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department who took to their official and verified Twitter handle to release a press statement.

According to the press statement, rocky on November 6, 20221, at around 10:15 p.m, had an argument with two acquaintances in the area of Selma Avenue and Argyle Avenue, in the Hollywood area which later escalated and resulted in the suspect, A$ap firing a handgun at the victim.

According to the statement, Detectives are still working on the case to investigate and corroborate the reporting information which helped identify the suspect involved.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the rapper was charged in connection with the November 20221 incident on Monday, August 15th 2022, and now faces two charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and allegations of personally using a handgun.

If convicted, the 33-year-old may face up to nine years in jail.

“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” Gascón said in the statement.

The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.

But Rocky will be arraigned on August 17 in a courtroom in downtown Los Angeles.
