The singer shared the news on Wednesday, April 1, alongside a series of maternity photos. The images included a striking black-and-white silhouette and a coordinated denim look featuring both parents. Keeping things simple, she wrote, “+1, 3.10.26, God bless my little family #mommyof2.”
While the message confirmed the arrival date March 10, it stopped short of revealing the baby’s name or gender.
The post also cleared up weeks of online speculation. Earlier claims had circulated suggesting the couple had welcomed twins back in January. Simi’s update shut those rumours down, confirming the birth of just one child and offering no additional details.
True to their usual low-key style, the couple had kept the pregnancy largely private. Adekunle Gold first hinted at the news in the visuals for his song “My Love Is The Same” from his album Fuji. Instead of a direct announcement, the reveal came through subtle storytelling in the music video.
Reactions poured in almost immediately after the post went live. Temi Otedola wrote, “Beautiful congratulations!!” while Ladipoe playfully commented, “Duduke Pt. 2,” referencing the couple’s popular 2020 love song. The couple’s journey together dates back over a decade. They began their relationship around 2014 before quietly tying the knot in January 2019. The wedding was so private that it only became public knowledge after it had taken place.
Their first child, Adejare, was born in May 2020 and has since become a fan favorite through occasional glimpses shared by her parents online.
