The president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has finally come out with his decision on the trending LGBTQI issue facing the country, watch the video below.

According to Akufo Addo, there is no way he will ever allow or legalize the marriage of same-sex in Ghana under his presidency, he said it will never happen.

The president’s decision comes following ongoing debates and discussions on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTSI) activities in Ghana putting pressure on the government to make it legal in the country.

“It will not be under the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that same sex marriage will be legalized in Ghana, It will never happen in my time as president,” he said.

“I have said it before, and let me stress it again, that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legal”, he added.

Akufo-Addo made this known at the installation of the 2nd Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Ghana at Asante Mampong on Saturday, 27th February 2021.
