Ghana’s president, Akufo-Addo has finally reacted on concerns raised by more of the country’s citizens regarding placing Ghana on Lockdown to prevent further spread of the CoronaVirus pandemic.

According to the president was Addressing leaders of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) at the Jubilee House earlier today, Thursday March 26, 2020.

He stated that the government will not be taking the Lockdown option into consideration for now due to the implications it will be having on many Ghanaians.

Akufo-Addo added that in other to take the right decisions, they will have to think in the best interest for all, a solution that will be favourable for the ordinary Ghanaian who will be in affected more should this Lockdown measure be initiated.

“If you lockdown Accra, what are the consequences? If we lockdown the country, what are the consequences? A responsible government is required to look at all this before decisions are made and that is the exercise on which we are currently engaged.

“I am hopeful that sooner than later, we will come to an agreement within government on the way forward and the Ghanaian people will be informed.

ButI want to assure you that the matters you have put on the table are matters we are actively deliberating on,” he said.
