The family of the late veteran Ghanaian Highlife artiste, Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr, has announced the dates for his final funeral rites. This important event will span three days, taking place from Friday, September 29th to Sunday, October 1st.
Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr, a renowned guitarist, held a prominent position in Ghana’s music industry and left an enduring legacy. Unfortunately, he passed away on Monday, May 15th, 2023, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.
His son, Akwaboah Jr., who is also a musician, shared the news of his father’s passing through his official social media channels.

Funeral Arrangement for Akwaboah Snr
The funeral arrangements, as detailed in the flyer shared online, will commence with a memorial service at Heroes Park, Kumasi Sports Stadium. Following this, he will be laid to rest at Trede cemetery in his hometown in the Ashanti Region.
The final part of this commemoration, a thanksgiving service, is scheduled for Sunday, October 1st, 2023, marking the conclusion of this heartfelt farewell to a music legend.
