Ancelotti: “I’m not leaving here until they fire” after Madrid’s 100th trophy

Carlo Ancelotti addressed the media after Real Madrid won the Club World Cup on Saturday night, beating Al Hilal 5-3 in the tournament final.

He denied rumors that he was in the running to lead Brazil’s national team.

In recent weeks, the Italian has been mentioned in connection with the Selecao position as Brazil searches for a successor to Tite.

But he has no immediate plans to leave Real Madrid, where he is under contract until 2024.

“I’m not leaving here until they fire me,” Ancelotti stated.

“I’m delighted to form part of Real Madrid’s history.

“We have had a nice time here in Morocco, with lots of Real Madrid fans supporting us. We leave very happy.”

Ancelotti on Fede Valverde 

“I’m glad he has achieved this because now I don’t have to rip up my coaching license,” Ancelotti said.

“Valverde has gone through a tough time, but he’s getting back to his best.

Ancelotti on Vinícius Jr after the Brazilian was named best player of the tournament.

“This could be a new boost for him.”

Ancelotti added: “He is progressing, continuing the progression that started last season.

“We’re very happy with him, especially because we see that he keeps improving.

“He is much more decisive now and is scoring in most games or making the difference in most games.”
