Ancelotti: “Injuries exist so if you don’t want to get injured, stay on the sofa.”

Prior to the Champions League match against RB Leipzig on Tuesday in Germany, five members of Los Blancos first team will be absent.

Dani Ceballos and Mariano Diaz are still out for Los Blancos.

Karim Benzema, Federico Valverde, and Luka Modric have not traveled to Germany due to muscular exhaustion, a knock, and adductor issues, as Carlo Ancelotti is unwilling to risk his players.

Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti issued a clear message to players who are concerned about injuries as he talked about the upcoming World Cup and the need for caution regarding the physical condition of the players.

“Injuries exist in the world of football. If you don’t want to get injured, stay on the sofa,” Ancelotti said in his pre-match press conference ahead of their ChampionsLeague game.

“You can get injured in training, in a collision with a teammate.

“For now, everyone wants to train. If someone tells me they’re afraid, then they should stay at home, watching a TV series or a movie, there are plenty of them.”

It’s a challenging time of the year.

Despite praising his players, Carlo Ancelotti was quick to criticize the erratic football schedule leading up to the World Cup.

“It’s a very intense period of the season, with too many games, in my opinion,” he confirmed.

“We’re holding up well, although we have a few absentees. The World Cup comes at the right time.

“I don’t believe players are thinking about the World Cup, although they want to get to the World Cup in a healthy way. You get to the World Cup well if you have continuity.”

In the Spanish capital, there is much discussion over Marco Asensio’s future, but the Italian coach would not say when the matter will be settled.

“Asensio and the club know what I think. Many players finish their contracts and in the break we can talk about this,” he continued.

“Right now it makes no sense to talk about this issue. I ask him to be professional, serious and endure the difficult moment.

“That’s what Asensio is doing and all those who play less. Some of those who play less are going to play tomorrow and are going to give their contribution to the team”.

Ancelotti on Vinicius Jr.

Vinicius Jr. has been one of the season’s top performers, but Ancelotti isn’t quite ready to rest the Brazilian just yet.

“No, Vini is going to play. He is not tired,” he asserted.”
