The Blues are in a spot of bother over Christensen’s long-term future, as he has entered the final six months of his contract, with developments on the renewal front being slow.

According to Diario Sport, Christensen is ‘close to signing’ a four-year deal with the La Liga giants. Talks between the two parties have been ongoing for several months and the player’s entourage has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Barcelona.
