2020 Grammys: Burna Boy Loses To Angélique Kidjo As She Wins In The Best World Music Album Category With “Celia” and dedicated her win to him
Beninese singer, songwriter and actress Angélique Kidjo, is now a four-time Grammy Awards winner after winning in the Best World Music Album category with her “Celia” Album.
62nd Grammy Awards aired on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Venued at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and hosted by American singer, Alicia Keys.
Angélique Kidjo had to battle it out with four other hardworking artiste including the Dangote hitmaker, Nigerian star Burna Boy who was also nominated in the sane category with her “Best World Music Album” with his African Giant album.
The singer after winning this award took some time during her acceptance speech to spill out some few words, Kidjo acknowledged Burna Boy’s efforts by dedicating her win to him.
Says he is one of the young acts trying to change the perception and narrative of the African Continent through his type of music, watch video below.
