The road to 2023 general election got more intensed as the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo pulls crowd despite APC not officially naming the candidate that would represent its interest.
Many names have suggested but Osinbajo have been rallied for the most. According to sources, if the trend persists, then the APC would be forced to make a decision anytime soon.
The paradigms of power shift in Nigeria have saw the exclusion of the Igbo from the circle of national leadership, with the strongest alliance being between the North and South-West. Despite being a Yoruba and the current vice president of the country, many business advocacy groups have drummed their support for Osinbajo.

Moreover, in the wake of the election, other prominent names have also been flying around and Tinubu, APC national leader and Yahaya Bello, Kogi State Governor are one of them.
As things stand, none of the suspected candidates have publicly declared their interests – this creating room for permutations and combinations.
Nonetheless, the campaign posters of the Vice President have flooded the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and most of them are from business groups.
These groups have pleased with the VP to declare interest for the office of the Presidency come 2023. They described the admired politician as the “link” missing in the country.
The MD of Portal Realties Ltd, Dr. Tayo Fashogbon said:
“Osinbajo is a patriotic and detribalised NigeÂrian who will commit himself to work for evÂeryone.
“He is the only one who holds such a promÂise among other NigeÂrians aspiring for the plum job. The imperaÂtive for a President who is totally devoid of secÂtional interests has nevÂer been so paramount.”
“These are the reaÂsons why more and more well-meaning Nigerians are coming out daily in their numbers to invest in ‘Project Osinbajo.”
“This is also why the first-time businessmen in the country have decided not to leave politics to politicians alone but are ready to be fully involved in the political destiny of our country.”
Others are of the opinion the VP’s lack of a political base, sound business intelligence, and ethnic/religious appeal makes him the right candidate.
Meanwhile, despite this, APC still remains calm and have not declared its flag bearer yet.
