Arsenal and Chelsea battle for Wilfried Zaha with just 3 days left

Wilfried Zaha, the star player for Crystal Palace, is still up in the air with just three days remaining in the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is reportedly being pursued by London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the final year of his contract.

The international player from the Ivory Coast, who has made 433 appearances for the Eagles over two stints, is apparently on the radar of two London rivals.

As a fallback alternative to other targets, it is rumored that both Chelsea and Arsenal are preparing late offers for the winger.

Wesley Fofana is all but a done deal, therefore Todd Boehly’s major objective moving forward is the Gabonese attacker.

When Chelsea’s versatile front three struggled to score in the first four games of the season, Aubameyang emerged as a potential possibility earlier in the transfer window.

Thomas Tuchel has witnessed a significant change of his roster this summer with the losses at the front of the pitch as well, but more players are needed if his team is to be as competitive as the German demands.

Thomas Tuchel prefers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over all other candidates because of their shared history at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea is considering Zaha, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Barcelona is still “their number one priority,” according to The Guardian.

The Blues are reportedly prepared to offer Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, a former Palace loanee, and £25 million to buy the 21-year-old Anthony Gordon from Everton, according to sources from Football Insider.

Yeremy Pino of Villarreal and Pedro Neto of Wolves are reportedly targets for Arsenal, according to the Express.

On The Done Deal Show, transfer guru Dean Jones said: “They’re not the only two names they’re looking at [Neto and Pino]. In the background, there is Wilfried Zaha.”

“That deal is not moving forward at the moment, but Zaha is definitely one of those players that ticks the boxes and that Arsenal have an eye on.” “We will have to wait and see if they go down that path, Zaha is obviously in red-hot form at the moment.”

Zaha has continued to flourish with Eagles this season with three goals in as many games after 14 goals in 33 Premier League matches previous term.

The 29-year-old, whose Palace contract is up in a year, was injured against Aston Villa a week earlier, so he was unable to play in Saturday’s loss to Manchester City.

Wilfried is not here, he is an important player for us,” said Palace boss Patrick Vieira after the final whistle at the Etihad Stadium. “I think Ebe [Eze], Jordan [Ayew] did really well, the front players.”

“[Odsonne] Edouard I think had a really good game as well. Of course, you lose a little bit of pace when you don’t have Wilfried in the squad.”
