Barcelona are reportedly ready to listen to offers for American right-back Sergino Dest this summer following arrivals of new signings.

According to ESPN, La Liga giants Barcelona are prepared to listen to offers for the 21-year-old who joined Barcelona in the 2020 summer transfer but the player is believe to fight for his place in Xavi’s new look team.

USMNT right-back Sergino Dest was not among Barcelona’s summer sale list by the manager Xavi Hernandez but however, their failure to offload Neto, Oscar Mingueza, Samuel Umtiti, Riqui Puig and Martin Braithwaite has now made the 21-year-old other options to balance their books.

Catalan giants so far have made five arrivals at Camp Nou this summer with Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde but will need to offload some players to make space on their wage bill to the register their new signings ahead of 2022/23 season.

However, Report says that Barcelona are also set to enter talks for Chelsea right-back Cesar Azpilicueta, the 21-year-old has been considered to be the one out of the club to make way for new signings with the Catalan giants ready to listen to offers for the former Ajax player.

According to ESPN, Xavi is ready to let former Ajax defender leave and have the likes of Sergi Roberto, Ronald Araujo and Kounde as his other options should he sign the Spaniard.

The former Ajax defender who was hindered by injury will be looking to improve on last season’s 17 LaLiga starts but the possible arrival of experienced Azpilicueta will block his path.

The Catalan giants were initially open to selling the American for a proposed £17million with the Red Devils new boss Erik ten Hag interested in signing the defender as he also prepare to rebuild Old Trafford squad.

The Dutchman who coached the American during his first season as manager of Ajax is hopeful he could lure Dest to Old Trafford after a tough start to life at Camp Nou.

According to El National, Barca and United would be satisfied with a €20m fee for Dest which could see the defender ship to United after Erik ten Hag’s interest.

However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, insists that Dest, like De Jong is also expected to fight for his place in Spain.

For the time being though Dest appears committed to fighting for game time in Catalonia but that could change though if Azpilicueta arrives in Spain.

Diario AS also reported that Barcelona’s new coaching staff were unimpressed with aspects of Dest’s game and were desperate to improve him.
