Barcelona set to complete the signing of Golden Boot winner

The biggest transfer saga of the summer has come to an end as FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski becomes Barcelona’s fourth signing after the signing of Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen and Raphinha with blaugranes yet to find a way to register all new signings.

The Polish who joins Barcelona started his professional at Znicz Pruszków youth team at 2006 where he was top scorer on two separate occasions. He later moved to Polish first division side Lech Poznan where he was top scorer in the league in 2009/10.

He moved to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2010 where he won the German league title twice and collected a runners-up medal when Jurgen Klopp’s side lost in the final of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Lewandowki’s next move was to none other than Bayern Munich where he became a vital part of the all-conquering Bavarian side. The striker won all with Bayern in 2020, the Bundesliga title, the German cup and Super Cup and the Champions League in which he was top scorer with 15 goals.

Polish superstar’s eight year stay in Bavaria has come end, The striker’s consistent goalscoring led him to be named as ‘The Best’ on two occasions, picking up the award in 2020 and 2021.

The former Borussia Dortmund is said to sign a three-year deal with the option to extend it for a further year and a transfer fee of €45 million in fixed payment, plus €5 million add-ons.

The 33-year-old who has one year left on his contract expressed his desire to leave Bayern earlier on in the summer and has decided to take a pay cut in order to the Catalan giant this summer.

The Pole earned a net £200,000 a week which made him the highest paid player in the Bundesliga but has now accepted a £150,000 a week deal with Barcelona, 25 per cent pay cut according to Spanish news outlet AS.

The former Borussia Dortmund preferred #9 is with Memphis Depay, and it’s believed the former Manchester United winger is being link with an exit to Tottenham Hotspurs this summer.

The striker from Poland stands out for his goalscoring abilities. Inside the box he has all the tools to make him a difficult striker to read as he can find the net with his head and both feet with equal precision.
