Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie could leave Barcelona for free

According to a provision in their contracts, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie of Barcelona may go for FREE if financial difficulties prevent them from being registered before this weekend’s LaLiga opener vs. Rayo Vallecano.

Christensen and Kessie joined the Blaugrana this summer from Chelsea and Milan, respectively, but have not yet been registered by the club due to their ongoing financial difficulties.

According to ESPN, if neither player registers before Barca’s match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, they both may be allowed to leave Barcelona for free.

The Catalans are unable to sign the new players at this time due to their excessive salary cost.

The club has been compelled to search for ways to not only get rid of the unwanted players but also to provide new contracts with pay reductions to the established stars.

Due to a contract provision, Kessie and Christensen might leave the Camp Nou for no cost.

The Blaugrana have not yet registered fellow summer signings Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski, as well as the contract extensions inked by Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Roberto.

Christensen and Kessie came to the Camp Nou on free transfers, so a provision in their contracts will allow them to go for nothing.

This summer, Barca spent almost £100 million on new acquisitions, but it is thought that they are not finished yet.

Before the window opens, the Catalan team has also been mentioned in connection with a move for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.

Following the signing of Ferran Torres in January, the team had a similar issue, which prompted a lot of financial decisions to be taken in order to sign the forward.

President Joan Laporta has been successful in maintaining order at the Barcelona camp. He is certain that the two players will register on time, but even if they don’t, the club still has until the end of the month to do so.

While it appears Barcelona wants to avoid any potential issues by registering them all at once, some of the new additions can already be registered right now.

Frenkie de Jong or perhaps Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has surfaced as a target for Chelsea this summer, might be among the top players Barcelona must successfully offload.

It is unknown whether the seven players will be registered in time for the game when Barca plays Rayo Vallecano at the Camp Nou to open their LaLiga season on Saturday.
