In a deeply emotional tribute, Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of late singer Liam Payne, has opened up about their plans to marry within the year.
The former One Direction star tragically fell 45 feet from a hotel balcony in Argentina last Wednesday, at the age of 31.
Cassidy shared her heartbreak on Instagram, expressing the profound impact Payne had on her life and the lives of many.
“I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is shattered in ways I can’t put into words,” she wrote, alongside a series of cherished photos with him.
“You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone—millions of fans, your family, friends, and especially me.”

Reflecting on their relationship, she described him as her best friend and the love of her life. “Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into,” she said, struggling to come to terms with the reality of his absence.
The couple had shared many joyful moments, often finding delight in the simplest of things.
In her tribute, Cassidy revealed a note Payne had given her, outlining their future together. “It said, ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.’”
She shared her belief that although they would not be together in the way they had envisioned, he would always remain with her in spirit.
“I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned. You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel.”
Cassidy signed off with a poignant message, “I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go. Forever yours, Katelyn 444.”

Kate had left Argentina just two days before the tragedy, where they had flown to attend a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan.
The investigation into his death is ongoing, with a post-mortem examination confirming he died from multiple injuries.
