President Biden emerged unscathed after a stumble on the stage while extending his congratulations to the graduating class of the Air Force Academy at a momentous commencement ceremony on Thursday.

During his address, President Biden graciously stayed on stage for several hours as diplomas were bestowed upon the deserving graduates. However, a video captured the moment when he momentarily lost his footing and fell. Swift assistance from Air Force officials helped him back on his feet, and it was revealed that a sandbag on the stage had caused the incident.

Reassuring the concerned public, White House communications director Ben LaBolt promptly took to Twitter to confirm President Biden’s well-being and attribute the stumble to the unexpected presence of the sandbag during handshakes.

The footage of the incident rapidly spread across social media platforms, with individuals from both sides of the political spectrum sharing the clip, including Republican officials.

Given that President Biden, at the age of 80, holds the distinction of being the oldest person ever to assume the presidency, his age and fitness are likely to be subjects of scrutiny as he gears up for the 2024 reelection campaign.

Acknowledging the valid concerns about his age, President Biden has consistently affirmed his capability for the role by highlighting his energetic engagement in his duties and the demanding schedule he maintains. He believes that voters will have the opportunity to witness his capabilities firsthand and make their judgments accordingly.

In April, upon announcing his intention to seek reelection, President Biden expressed, “The only thing I can say is they’re going to see a race, and they’re going to judge whether I have or don’t have it.”
