NBA legend, Bill Russell, a former player for the Boston Celtics, has been confirmed dead.
The news of his demise was announced on Sunday, July 31st, 2022 by his family on social media.
Bill who was born on February 12, 1934 – July 31, 2022 died at the age of 88.

Russell, who is regarded as one of the best players in history, had a storied 13-year career with the Boston Celtics that featured 11 championships, five Most Valuable Player honors, and a dozen All-Star choices.
A member of the NBA’s 75th anniversary squad in 2021, Russell also led the Celtics to two NBA championships in 1968 and 1969 while serving as their coach.
