By Stermy 3 Min Read

According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, the Ghana Football Association will soon be appointing the new head coach for the black stars team.

It will be remembered that in our previous article on the subject, we stated that the new coach appointed by the GFA to replace Otto Addo would be announced in January.

The position has been vacant since Otto Addo’s departure following Ghana’s humiliating elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup competition in Qatar. And a new coach needs to be appointed to lead the team ahead of their next assignment, which comes in March when Ghana plays in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations doubleheader qualifying games against Angola in March.

He said.

“The Ghana Football Association is in the process of hiring a new coach and I have personally engaged them and they have indicated that a final report will be submitted to the Ministry possibly this week or next week.”

“I know we have an assignment in March this year and we need to have a new head coach, so he can start preparing for the AFCON qualifiers,

“The country should be assured that the GFA is working to ensure that we get a replacement.”
