In a letter to the Ghana Music Awards, Blakk Rasta, host of 3FM Black Pot, has expressed his desire to repay all of the honors he has received.

He said that the way they vote to be chosen as the winner is equivalent to selling the prize to the highest bidder.

Blakk Rasta had previously denounced the award scheme’s use of a vote process to determine winners.

This claim led some industry participants and the administrators of award programs to question Blakk Rasta’s credibility on the grounds that he had already received an honor on the same basis.

In light of this, Blakk Rasta responded by pledging to return any accolades he received through a voting process.

Blakk Rasta Vows To Return All VGMA Awards

On our entertainment desk, there is a letter from Blakk Rasta to Charter House in which he requests the return of every award that Charter House handed him before he even mentions the VGMA.

“I write to return award plaques given to me over the years during your awards.

Sir, I am of the new consciousness that these awards, which were and are still based on paying to vote to win awards, were/are a way of selling the awards to the highest bidder.

I am not proud of this and I wish to return these plaques and have my name expunged from your records.

Much as I appreciate your effort in appreciating people, this falls short of merit and decency.

I ask respectfully that you desist from nominating me in the future unless this unfortunate criterion changes to true merit awards standards.”

Meanwhile, Blakk Rasta has not received a response from Charter House, the organization behind the Ghana Music Awards.
