Ex-BMF Rapper Bleu DaVinci Claims He Discovered Eminem Before Dr. Dre

Bleu DaVinci, an ex-BMF rapper, claims he was aware of Eminem’s lyrical abilities long before Dr. Dre signed the legendary Detroit rapper.

DaVinci spoke with Cam Capone News about his time as a 16-year-old rapper on the rise, claiming he was close with Priority Records higher-ups early on, which led to him bringing Eminem to label head Andrew Shack long before Dre even knew he existed.

“I know how the whole label run at 16 years old,” the former BMF rapper said. “I brought fucking Slim Shady, Eminem to him, on my mama, anybody. Ask the Jewish man Andrew Shack, I brought Eminem to that first before Dr. Dre signed him.

“Me and Ras Kass was finna go to New York and just came from Maritime Hall in the Bay and I just watched Eminem perform for the first time, I took his tape and took him straight to the fucking head of A&R Andrew Shack. He was the head of A&R and then he became Vice President. He was the n-gga that signed n-ggas!”

“He was in the middle of doing the Rhyme & Reason soundtrack and I brought him Eminem,” DaVinci continued, telling critics to check the dates. He added that Shack eventually cussed him out after Dre signed Slim Shady, but that the tape DaVinci had copped for Shack was “still in his deck.”

“Dr. Dre signed him why didn’t you tell me?’ I said I did tell you, muthafucka. He the hardest muthafuckin’ white boy I ever seen rapping in my life, that’s why I brought him in here,” DaVinci said. “I didn’t have to bring this shit in here … I was just 16 they wasn’t respecting my gangsta.”

DaVinci also claimed in the lengthy interview that Gucci Mane initially wanted to join the Black Mafia Family but was turned down by Big Meech.

Meech allegedly thought Gucci was unpredictable at the time because of stories about him sticking people up on a regular basis.

“Gucci’s a street n-gga. He just be outside all the time and shit,” DaVinci said. “Gucci was like a part-time jack boy, part-time dope dealer, part-time rapper. Gucci was a slash man. I knew Gucci before I knew Jeezy.”

He continued: “Gucci used to always be in the club, on the wall looking at n-ggas with a drink in his hand with his hat down, trying to get him a victim. Meech knew him.

“He was cool, and he used to try to get down with the mob, but Meech was telling n-ggas like, ‘Nah man, this n-gga be out here robbing n-ggas and shit. We can’t have no n-ggas that’s known robbers.’

“It wasn’t like he was some robber. N-ggas knew he would get down on a n-gga type shit. So we kinda wasn’t doing that at the time. He always just been a friendly and always been the homie.”

Fans may get to see all of DaVinci’s stories unfurl in 50 Cent’s hit TV series BMF, which is loosely based on the lives of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory who founded the Black Mafia Family in Detroit in 1985.

The series is currently on its second season and recently received a renewal for a third.
