Bowen wins West Ham Player of the Season; Kudus takes second

Mohammed Kudus, a Ghanaian midfielder, finished second in West Ham United’s Player of the Season Award competition, capping off a stellar debut season in the English Premier League. 

Kudus came in behind England international Jarrod Bowen, who has contributed 30 goals in all competitions until Sunday, May 19, when West Ham plays its final season-ending match against Manchester City. 

For The Hammers in the 2023–2024 campaign, Bowen tallied 20 goals and 10 assists; this was one of two trophies he won after emerging as the team’s leading goal scorer of the year. 

In contrast, Kudus has 13 goals and 6 assists in 44 games across all competitions for West Ham, including seven goals and six assists in his Premier League debut.

Kudus put on another brilliant dribbling performance in West Ham’s penultimate game of the season, helping the teenage player George Earthy score his first Premier League goal. Luton Town lost to West Ham 3-1.

Despite missing out on the Player of the Season Award, Kudus scooped up the Goal of the Season Award with his sensational strike against SC Freiburg in the Europa League earning him the prize.
