Arsenal rising star Bukayo Saka could join a regular Champions League side like Liverpool, Man City or Chelsea if his side fail to qualify for Champions league football next season.

The Nigerian born English player Bukayo Saka has been the Gunners talisman last season, scoring 11 goals and 7 assist for his side in all competions.

The 20-year-old English professional footballer’s contract is due to expire 2024 which the Gunners are willing to tie him down on a long term but it seems the player is reluctant to commit his long-term future to the club.

The PFA Young Player of the Year has been on the radar for the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool as they monitor the situation at Emirate.

Yet Arsenal technical director Edu is adamant his player is happy and indicated that Arsenal’s no.7 is ready to extend his stay at his boyhood club.

The Brazilian speaking about contract negotiations between both sides to The Athletic.

“Good, very good. Everybody is happy.” He said:

We’re going to sit & put all the expectations in the right place.”

“The main thing is how he feels, how he feels comfortable with us,”He added.

“He’s happy, we’re happy, so it’s just: sit down & find a solution.”

However, former Premier League shot-stopper Paddy Kenny believes an exit to a regular Champions league side could be a good move for Saka.

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Kenny speaking to Football Insider, via SportBible, claimed Arsenal will finish fourth next season.

“I think Arsenal will be going for fourth this season. I like who they have added, Jesus and Zinchenko, I just think he [Saka] isn’t in a major rush to sign [a new contract],” the 44-year-old said.

“If Arsenal didn’t get into the Champions League this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he is looking for a move. He would be looking for a move to a regular Champions League team like Liverpool or Man City, even Chelsea.”

“It would have to be someone who is more or less guaranteed Champions League football. It is a tough one because he still has years left on his deal and whoever comes in will have to pay top dollar.

“He will definitely want to get out if they don’t get into the Champions League, that’s what the club will promise him.”

The Gunners will take on La Liga outfit Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium in their final pre-season match which takes place this weekend before they travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in their first league match of the 2022/23 campaign.
