In a funny pattern that feels like a scene from a staged comedy, a stray bull in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India, became an overnight Internet sensation when CCTV footage captured its strange attempt at scooter “theft.”
The now-viral video begins innocently, with a woman walking beside a school-uniform-clad toddler, a quiet street, with only a motorcycle, an auto-rickshaw, and a parked white scooter.
The bull was captured in the video as it approaches the parked scooter with humor and, to everyone’s surprise, places its front legs squarely on the seat. With its hind legs still on the ground, the bull seems to be getting ready for a joyride.
Naturally frightened the woman grabs the child and rushes to safety, staring back at the strange sight. Meanwhile, the bull starts pushing the scooter forward, resulting in an incredibly unsteady scene. After moving the bike a few steps, the bull knocks it against a nearby house gate before walking away as if nothing had happened.
The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), comes with a cheeky Hindi caption that roughly translates to: “You’ve probably seen people stealing scooters before, but the case in Rishikesh is a bit different. Even stray bulls here seem to have a thing for bikes and scooters!”
The Internet, of course, couldn’t resist the sheer hilarity, with users flooding the post with jokes and memes about the bull’s unexpected antics.
Who knew Rishikesh’s most unlikely scooter enthusiast would come with horns?
