Popular Nigerian musician, Burna Boys adds another award/plaque to his collection as he has been awarded the ‘Best African Act’ category at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs).
The grammy Award-winning singer who is born with his legal name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu managed to overcome his opponents in the category which included other nominees like, Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Black Sherif (Ghana), Musa Keys (South Africa) and Zuchu (Tanzania).
The 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards was held on 13 November 2022 at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. This marks the sixth time the award show is hosted in Germany. The show aired live on MTV with an hour long pre-show leading up to the main show.

2022 MTV Europe awards: Nicki Minaj was awarded “Best Song” for her “Super Freaky Girl” song and “Best Hip Hop,” artiste, while Harry Styles won ‘Best Live’.
Taylor Swift earned four top awards at the event, including “Best Artist,” “Best Video,” “Best Pop” and “Best Longform Video” for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).”
