The two are going through a divorce for the second time. The initial attempt was made in 2020 and submitted in September; however, it was dismissed in October of that same year. Page Six published an article stating that the divorce was filed on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

According to reports, the pair has “grown apart,” dispelling speculations that adultery was the cause of their marital issues. It appears that the two haven’t been as close since their first unsuccessful effort at divorce.

Cardi B Files for Divorce: It is verified in the latest filing that Cardi is not going to back down this time and that she is requesting primary custody of their children.

In contrast to the previous divorce attempt, which was predicated on accusations of adultery, reports indicate that this latest attempt is not predicated on cheating, however, the real reason for it is yet unknown to the public.

Cardi revealed that she is expecting her third child shortly after breaking the news of her divorce. After seven (7) years of dating, the couple had a daughter, Kulture, who is five years old, and a son, Wave, who is two years old. In 2017, they got married.

The female rapper announced the news on Thursday by sharing two images of her growing baby bulge and a message to her unborn third kid, thanking them for “more love, more life and most of all [renewing] my power!”

She wrote; “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
