Cassie Responds to Diddy’s Claims of Edited Assault Video, Defends Its Authenticity

Singer Cassie has firmly responded to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ allegations that the hotel surveillance footage showing him assaulting her was edited, with her legal team dismissing his arguments and standing by the authenticity of the video.

Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, addressed the claims made by Diddy’s defense team, stating that the video shown in the media was genuine and will be presented as evidence in the rapper’s upcoming trial.

In a statement provided to Mail Online, Wigdor said, “It’s not surprising Diddy would make a disingenuous argument to exclude the disturbing video from being shown to the jury in the upcoming trial.

I am confident that the video fairly and accurately represents what happened, will be admitted into evidence, and that Combs will be held accountable for his depravity.”

The controversy over the video arose when Diddy’s legal team accused CNN of altering and destroying the original footage, which allegedly showed him physically assaulting Cassie.

Diddy’s team has argued that the edited clip should be excluded from the trial. However, Cassie’s side has rejected these claims, insisting that CNN did not alter the footage, and they expect any motions to exclude the video to be denied.

“To be clear, CNN never altered the video and did not destroy the original copy of the footage, which was retained by the source,” a CNN spokesperson confirmed in response to Diddy’s claims.

Although Diddy is not currently facing criminal charges for the assault shown in the footage, federal prosecutors plan to use the video in their case to highlight his history of violence, particularly in light of other charges he is facing, including s£x trafficking and racketeering, after his arrest in September 2023.

Cassie’s allegations against Diddy have sparked significant public attention, as she accused him of years of abuse, including s£xual assault, in a $30 million lawsuit filed in November 2023.

Cassie’s lawsuit claims that Diddy subjected her to physical abuse, sexual assault, and other disturbing actions over the course of their 11-year on-and-off relationship, which ended in 2018.

The lawsuit alleges that in the final days of their relationship, Diddy raped her and forcibly involved her in abusive sexual encounters.

The lawsuit and these new developments have added to the scrutiny surrounding Diddy, who settled the case with Cassie the day after the lawsuit was filed.

As his legal battles continue, the upcoming trial will likely bring more attention to his controversial past.
