Pelé, also known as Edson Arantes do Nascimento, was a legendary figure in world of football and a World Cup champion.

Sadly enough, he died at the age of 82.

Brazilian football player Pelé specialized in forward play. He was among the most prosperous and well-known sports figures of the 20th century and was regarded as one of the all-time great players and called “the greatest” by FIFA.

On October 23, 1940, in Três Coraçes, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Pelé was born and sadly on December 29, 2022, he passed away.

Cause of Death

Pelé battled cancer for a longer period of time before passing away at the age of 82.

In light of this, he had surgery to have a tumor from his colon removed. And it was in Sao Paulo, at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, that the football legend was receiving chemotherapy.

Yet sadly on December 29th, 2022, Pelé passed away. May he rest in peace!
