Pop sensation Chappell Roan has unveiled a new philanthropic initiative, The Midwest Princess Project, a non-profit organization designed to uplift trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities through meaningful action, care, and connection.
The announcement came via Instagram on Thursday, October 23, where Roan shared her excitement with fans, writing, “I am so excited to announce @midwestprincessproject, an organization we’ve launched to provide support and needed resources for trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities!”
According to Roan, the project has already generated significant financial impact, raising over $400,000 through her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things Pop-Up Shows. “Outside of transaction fees to host the donation page and limited costs for my team to effectively manage the project, we have committed to donating every dollar possible to the organizations that need it most,” she explained.
The funds collected are being directed to several reputable non-profit organizations that support LGBTQ+ advocacy and transgender resources, including the Ali Forney Center and The LGBT Center in New York, the Trans Wellness Center and TransLatin@ Coalition in Los Angeles, as well as The GLO Center and The Center Project in Missouri.
Each of these cities hosted Roan’s pop-up performances, with $1 from every ticket sold going directly toward The Midwest Princess Project.
This latest move reinforces Roan’s commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and community empowerment, causes that have long defined her public image. Her advocacy was spotlighted earlier this year when she publicly declined an invitation to perform at the White House’s Pride Month celebration. During her Gov Ball 2024 appearance, she told the crowd, “We want liberty, freedom and justice for all … That means freedom in trans rights.”
Through The Midwest Princess Project, Roan continues to bridge her artistry with activism — turning her growing influence in the music industry into a powerful tool for social change.
