Ebenezer Smith, widely known as Chef Smith, has issued a heartfelt apology to the people of Ghana and the global community for fabricating his Guinness World Records (GWR) certification.

In his apology, the self-proclaimed chef expressed deep remorse and begged forgiveness from Ghanaians, his former management, Nana Boro, President Akufo Addo, former President John Dramani Mahama, and his wife, Lordina Mahama, along with all those who supported him sincerely.

Smith admitted in a video statement that he had applied to participate in the Guinness World Records Cook-a-thon, but never received confirmation.

This apology follows a recent press conference held on July 2nd, where Smith asserted he was the current record holder of the Guinness Cook-a-thon competition, presenting what turned out to be a counterfeit certificate.

Subsequently, GWR denied any knowledge of his participation, leading to widespread backlash on social media.

Additionally, Smith’s assistant chef, who supported him during the fabricated competition, also released a statement on social media, expressing ignorance of the deception and issuing her own apology.
