Enzo Fernandez, the Chelsea midfielder, has announced his split from Valentina Cervantes, the mother of his two children.
The breakup was confirmed by Cervantes, who took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about their amicable separation.
The couple, who have been together since their childhood in Argentina, welcomed their first child in March 2020 and their second in October 2023. Cervantes expressed in her post that despite the split, their focus remains on co-parenting.
“With Enzo today we stay distance from each other,” she wrote.
“But we will always be family and support each other through everything because there are two kids in the middle that need a lot of our love.”

Reports suggest that Fernandez, 23, expressed a desire to “live alone,” indicating he wants to experience a stage of life he feels he skipped by starting a family early.
Influencer Cervantes reassured followers that the decision was mutual, emphasizing her respect for Fernandez as an excellent father and individual.

Fernandez’s career has been in the spotlight since his record-breaking transfer to Chelsea from Benfica for £107 million in January 2023.
However, recent weeks have seen him relegated to the bench under coach Enzo Maresca, with Renato Veiga favored in midfield during crucial Premier League matches.

The announcement follows a tumultuous period for Fernandez, who faced backlash over a controversial video involving discriminatory chants after Argentina’s Copa America victory.
Though he issued a public apology, the incident sparked significant criticism from teammates and fans alike.
