Christian Eriksen is expected to part ways with Manchester United by the end of the current season, reports suggest.
The Danish midfielder, who was part of Denmark’s 2-1 loss to Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Friday, has not yet started talks regarding a contract extension with the club.
According to well-known football journalist Fabrizio Romano, there have been no negotiations for a new deal, and Eriksen’s future is likely to lie elsewhere.
Romano also mentioned that the opinion of Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim could play a role in Eriksen’s next move.
Romano said on his X (formerly Twitter) account that:
Eriksen is expected to leave Manchester United, No discussions over a new contract, while Amorim’s views will be considered.
Eriksen, 32, joined Manchester United in 2022 on a three-year deal after his contract with Brentford ended. If he does leave Old Trafford, his time at the club will span two seasons.

The midfielder’s departure would mark the end of another significant chapter in his storied career.
Eriksen has previously played for top clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan, and his comeback to football after suffering a cardiac arrest during the 2021 European Championship was one of the most remarkable stories in recent football history.
As Eriksen prepares for what could be his final season with Manchester United, questions remain about where his next career move will take him, with speculation swirling around possible destinations, including a return to one of his former clubs or a new challenge in another league.
