The song quickly became one of the most popular rap songs of all time, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and ending 1995 as the No. 1 single of that year in the United States. Coolio won the Grammy Award for best rap solo performance for the song.

Aside from his music career, Coolio was also an accomplished actor, appearing in popular TV series like “The Nanny,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” and reality shows such as “Celebrity Big Brother.” Additionally, he was passionate about cooking and released his own cookbook, “Cookin’ With Coolio,” in 2009.
